  • What is the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL)?
    ICDL is an internationally recognised qualification that enables people to certify their computer skills to an internationally recognised standard.
     
  • What is the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)?
    ECDL is the name that was given to the ICDL Programme in Europe, however, in 2020 the name was updated to become known as ICDL globally.
     
  • What is ICDL Standard?
    ICDL Standard is the name of ICDL's most popular programme.
    It provides a standard of digital competency, recognized by most governments and employers in the region.

  • Where can I complete training for the ICDL tests?
    There are two options available to you. If you prefer in-person training, you can test at any ICDL Accredited Test Centre.
    While most ICDL Accredited Test Centres provide both training and testing, some provide testing only.
    You can check here to find your nearest one. If you would prefer to be tested at home or work, you can opt for remote testing through one of the ICDL Certifications online.

  • Candidates are tested how?
    With both in-person testing and remote testing, candidates are tested in examination conditions proctored by an ICDL Quality Assurance Officer.
    Test centres use automated test systems which automatically assess the candidates performance on completion of each test.
    Automated Tests provide immediate feedback to both the centre and the candidate. Candidates must complete one test for each module.

     
  • When can I start ICDL?
    You can start ICDL at any time by contacting any of the ICDL Accredited Test Centres near you or purchasing an ICDL Certificate online.
    You are encouraged to undertake training at an ICDL Centre if required. Once you are ready, you may take a test for any of the modules in any order you choose. In-person testing may be subject to testing schedules set by each test centre.
     
  • How do I get a copy of the ICDL Syllabus?
    The ICDL Syllabus for every certification module is available for download from each of the C ertifications  from this section of the& site.
     
  • How much training is required?
    Usually people take training on each module prior to taking the test, although training is not compulsory. Some candidates may feel competent enough in one area to forego training and move directly to testing, whereas others may require full training before testing.
    The amount of training needed will depend on the candidate's existing skills levels prior to commencing training and the type of training - for example, instructor-led or e-learning.
    Typically the average training time for those without prior experience is approximately 30 hours per module.
    Training materials such as text books and eBooks that have been approved by ICDL Arabia are available from Accredited centers, enabling Individuals also to engage in self-paced learning.
     
  • How long are the tests?
    Each module is tested separately with each test lasting no longer than 45 minutes. The tests can be attempted in any order.
